I’ve just completed my Disney Cruise Line training, and I’m so excited to plan these sailings for you! A Disney cruise is pure magic for families: kids light up when Mickey Mouse waves hello in the atrium, grandparents love that everything is taken care of, and parents finally get to relax. And grown-ups traveling without kids? You’ll have a wonderful time too. 🐭✨
Why a Disney Cruise Feels Different
It starts the moment you step aboard. Your family is announced by name as you walk into the lobby, and from then on the characters are everywhere: Mickey and Minnie in their captain’s best, princesses, Marvel Super Heroes, Star Wars characters, Pixar pals and even a few villains. Meet-and-greets are included in your fare, so bring the autograph book and charge your phone.
Dinner is a show of its own. With Disney’s rotational dining, your family moves to a different themed restaurant each night, and your servers move right along with you, so by the second night they know just how your little one likes their milk. At Animator’s Palate, the room itself comes to life as you eat.
Evenings bring Broadway-style musicals in the Walt Disney Theatre, first-run Disney movies and deck parties under the stars. On Pirate Night the whole ship dresses up for a pirate deck party, and on most Bahamas and Caribbean sailings it ends with fireworks over the ocean. Disney Cruise Line is the only cruise line that offers fireworks at sea!
A Disney cruise is one of my favorite ways to celebrate a multi-generational family trip: everyone sails together, everyone has something to love, and nobody has to plan the next meal. I’ll help you choose the right ship, itinerary and staterooms, and take care of every detail.

The Magic On Board
Mickey, Fireworks & Fun for Every Age
These are the moments families talk about for years, and they’re a big part of why I love planning Disney cruises.
Character meet-and-greets happen all through your cruise: Mickey and Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Disney princesses, Marvel Super Heroes, Star Wars characters and more. Check the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for times, and get those hugs (and selfies) in.
The whole ship turns pirate for a night, with a themed dinner, a high-energy deck party and, on most Bahamas and Caribbean sailings, fireworks over the ocean. Disney is the only cruise line that offers fireworks at sea.
Rotational dining takes you to a different themed restaurant each night, and your servers rotate right along with you. Look for Animator’s Palate, Rapunzel’s Royal Table on Disney Magic and Worlds of Marvel on Disney Wish.
Original musicals in the Walt Disney Theatre, such as Tangled: The Musical on Disney Magic and Frozen, A Musical Spectacular on Disney Wonder, plus first-run Disney movies on board.
Disney’s Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab welcome kids ages 3 to 12, with Marvel, Star Wars and Disney-themed play spaces. Edge is for ages 11 to 14 and Vibe is a teens-only hangout for ages 14 to 17, all included in your fare.
Adults 18 and over can slip away to the Quiet Cove pool, the Senses Spa and adults-only dining: Palo on Magic, Wonder, Dream and Fantasy, Remy on Dream and Fantasy, and Enchanté and Palo Steakhouse on Wish, Treasure and Destiny.
Experiences checked on disneycruise.disney.go.com and Disney’s official ship descriptions, November 2026. Shows, restaurants and character appearances vary by ship and sailing; I’ll tell you what’s on yours. Psst: can you spot the Hidden Mickeys on this page? Disney’s designers tuck them into the ships too. 🐭
Karen’s Tip for Disney
Planning a Multi-Generational Disney Cruise
Family trips are some of my favorite trips to plan, and Disney makes them easy. Many Disney staterooms have a split bathroom (a tub-and-shower room plus a separate sink and toilet), which is a real gift when everyone’s getting ready for dinner at once. I’ll look for connecting or nearby staterooms so Grandma and Grandpa are just down the hall, line up your dinner seating together, and point out when Concierge staterooms are worth the splurge. Disney sailings often fill up early, especially around school breaks, so it pays to start planning well ahead.
Stateroom features vary by ship and category; I confirm them in your quote. More on cabin types →
Meet the Fleet
The Disney Ships
Every Disney ship has its own personality and theme. Here’s a quick look, and I’ll help you match the ship to your family.
The ship that started it all in 1998, and the one that sails from Galveston. Home to Rapunzel’s Royal Table, the AquaDunk waterslide and Tangled: The Musical.
Joined the fleet in 1999 with elegant Art Nouveau style. Dine at Tiana’s Place and Animator’s Palate, and see Frozen, A Musical Spectacular.
Launched in 2011, mixing classic ocean-liner style with Star Wars and Disney Animation experiences, the AquaDuck water coaster, and adults-only Palo and Remy.
Sailing since 2012, with Marvel and Star Wars experiences, the AquaDuck water coaster, and a golden, two-deck-high grand atrium.
Launched in 2022 with the AquaMouse water ride, the Worlds of Marvel cinematic dining adventure and a first-of-its-kind Star Wars lounge.
Sailing since late 2024 with a theme of adventure, inspired by Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars stories and Disney Parks tales.
The newest Wish-class ship, sailing from Fort Lauderdale since November 2025. Its heroes-and-villains theme includes Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King and De Vil’s, a Cruella-inspired piano lounge.
Disney’s largest ship, sailing 3- and 4-night cruises from Singapore since March 2026, with the Ironcycle Test Run roller coaster. Next up: Disney Believe, expected in late 2027.
Ship details checked on disneyexperiences.com and Disney Cruise Line announcements, November 2026.
Sailings checked on Disney Cruise Line’s published 2026-28 schedule, November 2026. Itineraries can change; I’ll confirm current dates and ports for you.

Disney’s Private Islands
Your Private Island Day
Disney’s own island in The Bahamas, where the ship docks right at the pier, so it’s easy to pop back on board for a nap. Enjoy the family beach, a complimentary BBQ lunch, snorkeling in the lagoon and character visits, while adults 18 and over can head to Serenity Bay, the adults-only beach.
Disney’s newer destination on the island of Eleuthera, opened in June 2024. It celebrates the culture of The Bahamas with Junkanoo shows, a nature trail, a water play area, beautiful beaches and its own adults-only Serenity Bay. It has a long pier, with trams to the beach.

Where Disney Sails
Disney Cruise Destinations
Itineraries change each season; I’ll check current sailings for your dates.

Short getaways and longer sailings from Port Canaveral and Fort Lauderdale, plus select 7-night cruises from Galveston, most with a day at Castaway Cay or Lookout Cay.

Western Caribbean from Galveston, and Eastern and Western Caribbean from Florida, with Pirate Night and fireworks at sea on most sailings.

In summer 2027, Disney Magic sails 7-night Alaska cruises from Vancouver to Skagway, Icy Strait Point and Ketchikan, with scenic cruising at the Stikine Icecap.
Regions and home ports checked on Disney Cruise Line’s published 2026-28 schedule, November 2026.
Land & Sea
Add a Few Days at Walt Disney World
Many Disney cruises sail from Port Canaveral, about an hour from Orlando, which makes it easy to pair your cruise with a few days at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. I’ll plan the park days, the hotel and the transfer to the ship. See my Orlando page →

Disney Cruise FAQ
Questions About Disney Cruise Line
Is a Disney cruise only for families with kids?
Not at all! Families are at the heart of Disney, but grown-ups love it too. Adults 18 and over have their own Quiet Cove pool, adults-only restaurants (Palo, Palo Steakhouse, Remy and Enchanté, depending on the ship), lounges and the spa, plus Serenity Bay, the adults-only beach on Disney’s private islands.
Does Disney Cruise Line sail from Galveston?
Yes, seasonally. Disney Magic sails from Galveston from November 20, 2026 through April 2027, with 4- and 5-night Western Caribbean cruises and a few 7-night Bahamas sailings, then returns on November 18, 2027 (checked November 2026). Year-round, most Disney sailings leave from Florida, and I can help plan the flight and a pre-cruise hotel night.
What is rotational dining?
Each night your family dines at a different themed restaurant, such as Animator’s Palate, and your servers rotate with you, so they get to know your family’s favorites over the whole cruise.
Will we get to meet Mickey Mouse?
Yes! Character meet-and-greets with Mickey, Minnie and friends, Disney princesses, Marvel Super Heroes and more happen throughout your cruise and are included in your fare. Times are listed in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app.
What is Pirate Night?
A ship-wide pirate party on most Bahamas and Caribbean sailings, with a themed dinner, a deck party with Disney characters and, on most of those sailings, fireworks at sea. Disney is the only cruise line that offers fireworks at sea. Bring a pirate bandana!
What’s included in a Disney cruise fare?
Your stateroom, rotational dining, quick-service food and soft-serve, soft drinks, coffee and tea at meals and drink stations, Broadway-style shows, character meet-and-greets, pools, the kids, tween and teen clubs, and your private island day on most Bahamas and Caribbean sailings. Gratuities, alcohol, adults-only dining, Wi-Fi, Port Adventures, the spa and the nursery are extra.
Can I keep my Castaway Club benefits if I book with you?
Yes. Share your Castaway Club number and I’ll add it to your reservation.
Does it cost more to book Disney with you?
No. There are no planning fees, my services are free to you, and requesting a quote is free too.
Checked on the cruise line’s official website, November 2026. Inclusions and offers change, so I confirm the details in your quote.
Make It More Than the Cruise
Arriving the day before you sail takes the stress out of embarkation day, especially with little ones. I’ll arrange your pre- and post-cruise hotel nights, cruise parking in Galveston or Florida and transfers to the ship, and I can add a few days at Walt Disney World in Orlando before or after a Port Canaveral sailing. Just ask when you request your quote.
